HOW TO FIND YOUR MANUFACTURE?

The manufacturer of your laptop is always printed on the bottom.
On some newer Dell's, Compaq's and HP's the Manufacturer label is printed underneath the Battery, so if you cannot find it, try looking there.

If you can't find the manufacturer of your laptop, it is typically printed on the lid of your computer, and sometimes underneath the screen.

On Windows,
Press and hold the Windows Key on your keyboard, and press R

A Run window will open, type in WinVerand press OK

Your Windows version will be displayed in the window that comes up

On Windows,
To find out your computer / Laptop Hard Disk size:

Go to the Start button at the bottom left of your computer screen

Click on Computer. Your Primary Hard Disk is listed.

How do I find the specifications of my laptop?

What about my Data?

We can retrieve your data from your laptop for a fee of £49. This does not include the cost of return media, whether it being a USB Drive, External Hard Disk Drive or DVD. Please ask one of our advisors about Data Copy when calling us on 0800 879 9 879 or send us an email at info@webuy-laptops.co.uk for more information. You are also welcome to send us your own return media, or as an alternative, you can pay to have the Hard Drive taken from your laptop that you have sent us, and have it put in an External USB Enclosure for a fee. All information is securely destroyed from all laptops we receive immediately, using industry standard data removal tools.

How long does it take?

Once receiving your laptop we work to assess them within 1 hour. Your laptop will be checked for things like damage and quoted specifications, and then you will be contacted to confirm the value of your laptop.

Do you accept old laptops?

Yes, we will buy ANY laptop.

Do you buy Desktops?

Yes, we will buy any Desktop, as well as any Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse or Speakers.

What happens to the Personal Data on my Computer?

How do I erase my personal data from my laptop?

If you want to delete singular files you can select the file by clicking it and either pressing the delete key on your keyboard or right clicking on the file and selecting delete. You can select more than one file to delete at a time by holding the control (CTRL) key on your keyboard. Remember to empty your Recycle Bin on your desktop to make sure it has been deleted.

How do I backup my personal data from my laptop?

To backup your personal data, simply attach a USB drive, or USB External Hard Disk Drive and right click on each file you want to backup, go to Send To, then select the device you want to backup to. If you want to backup to DVD, insert a Blank DVD and choose Send To, DVD/CD-RW Drive.
